How do I get started?

FAQ

Simply reach out to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation. We'll discuss what's bringing you to therapy and whether we're a good fit to work together.

Do you take insurance?

I accept Columbia University's Aetna insurance in-network. For all other plans, I provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Many plans offer out-of-network benefits that may reduce therapy costs. I want to help clients keep therapy affordable and can guide you in contacting your insurance.

How will I know if therapy is working?

We'll set goals together that are meaningful to you and regularly check in on your progress. Success looks different for everyone—whether it's feeling less anxious, improving relationships, or gaining clarity about life decisions.

Are sessions confidential?

Absolutely. Everything you share remains completely private. The only exceptions are situations involving immediate safety risks, which we're legally required to address.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are 50 minutes, couples sessions are 60 minutes. We'll meet weekly or bi-weekly depending on your needs.

Do you prescribe medication?

I don't prescribe medication, but I often work with clients who see psychiatrists. I can help connect you with trusted medical professionals if medication might be helpful.

How long will I need therapy?

This varies greatly depending on your goals. Some people find significant help in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. You're always in control of how long you continue.

what are your fees?

My fees are commensurate with those of other psychotherapists in the surrounding area. Please reach out to find out further details on the fee schedule.
